ARGUS-i is IRONSTATE STUDIO's conceptual prototype for a Tactical Head-Up Display (HUD) wearable — a next-generation AR glasses platform engineered for offline-first, sovereign operation. Unlike commercial AR headsets tethered to cloud infrastructure, ARGUS-i processes all visual intelligence locally via an ESP32-S3 edge compute module, communicating peer-to-peer over WebRTC without any centralized server dependency.

OPTICAL ARCHITECTURE

The display system employs a dual-mode optical combiner supporting both Birdbath optics (high-brightness, compact form factor) and Waveguide combiners (thin-glass, wide FOV). The switchable architecture allows deployment in both tactical field environments and controlled precision workspaces, maintaining 30° horizontal FOV at 720p microdisplay resolution.

SENSOR FUSION STACK

A 4-element MEMS microphone array provides beamformed audio capture with active noise cancellation, while the ICM-42688-P IMU ring delivers 6-DOF motion tracking at 32kHz gyroscope sampling — enabling sub-millisecond HUD stabilization and gesture recognition without external reference infrastructure.
